Voters at agreed that Tom Quiram’s idea is compelling. The “Fill the Shelves" project will build the library's selection of books to include high interest and low readability selections for struggling and challenged students. It will encourage students to choose books that interest them while offering a current topic selection at their ability level. It will inspire students to continue reading, building skills and promoting literacy.

The project will also enhance the reading abilities of all students by offering selection that interest all readers. Some of the purchased books will be audio selections and well as digital. This will encourage students to read well into the 21st century.
